Love chilis. The chips and salsa is like nothing you've ever had before. A big must. Their steaks are served with peanuts, I believe. So you peanut allergic people be aware. Their bacon burger is really good and I recommend it. The margaritas are nice as well. A burger, drink, and one other entree you can get away with spending probably $30. Not terrible. Usually the servers are responsive, check-in with you and see how you are doing as opposed to dropping food off and never checking with you. I had one amazing experience here before and it was my best restaurant experience ever. The waitress was providing us with service by checking if we needed anything every so often and when our water was low, she immediately refill it. The big kicker was when we wanted to take the chips home with salsa, she not only bagged us chips, but gave us salsa in a new bowl ready to go! We went back a second time and asked for this, but the waiter gave us the bag and told us to pour whatever salsa we don't use into the container ourselves. Basically he gave us the bag, told us to bag it ourselves and said see you later! We tipped the lady very well that night. I wish I could have gotten her name. I haven't seen her since.

I know Chili's is nothing too special or out of the ordinary. I mean, it's still a chain restaurant with Americanized Mexican food, but it's pretty delicious. I thought the service at this Machesney Park location was excellent, which is why I'm giving it five stars. We had Reagan as a server, and she was really attentive, friendly and funny. For appetizers, we ordered the Bottomless Tostada Chips, Southwestern Eggrolls and Fried Cheese. The eggrolls are probably my favorite. They're stuffed with chicken, black beans, corn, cheese, red peppers and spinach. They're crispy and served with a tasty avocado-ranch dressing. For an entree, I had the Chicken Club Tacos. You get three flour tortillas stuffed with grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes, cheese, lettuce and ranch dressing. The tacos also come with rice and black beans. We had so much food, I actually ended up bringing home two tacos and some rice and beans, and they heated up really well in the microwave. This Chili's is pretty popular, so there was about a 25 minute wait when we got there around 7 on a Saturday night. Also, they seemed to have the heat cranked up, so it was uncomfortably hot inside. But other than that, we had great food, great margaritas and a great time.

We had what seemed like a once in a lifetime, well-deserved and glorious kid-free weekend (thanks to my sister, Robin) and planned on staying in and relaxing last night. As my husband and I were deciding what food to have delivered, we remembered that he, ironically enough won the chili cook off at work and received a Chilis gift card as the first place prize. The decision was made to grab Chilis "to go". After all, a free meal in the peace and quiet of our home, that I didn't have to cook mind you, was well worth moving off of the couch, showering and a quick drive down the road. So, I found Chilis online, reviewed the local menu, decided on chicken fajitas and Cajun pasta. Omg this was going to be great, getting good food and not having to actually go out! Love it!! Ok back to it, I ordered online only to discover Chilis in Machesney Park doesn't accept online orders. Ok, no biggie. So, I then called to place an order and the line rang busy. I waited a few minutes and called again and the recording stated "the number you are trying to reach is no longer in service or has been changed..." I thought that can't be right and called again and received the same recording. I googled the number to make sure I wasn't dialing incorrectly or that the number hadn't actually been changed. Turns out that I wasn't dialing incorrectly and the number hadn't changed. Ok, Im a bit aggravated because now, not only am I leaving the comfort of my couch, and showering, I have to put on something that is at least respectable enough to go inside the restaurant since I can't just sit in my car and have the food brought out. Grrrrr... Ok fast forward, I get to Chilis and they are packed! Great! I mean great for them that business is good and all but the chances of me running into someone I know are even greater now as my hair is still wet, I have no make up on and my clothes are mismatched. It's all gonna be worth it though in 25 minutes when I'm back home with warm food that I won't have to share with with my own, beast mode cowboy, as my hyperactive 8 year old son refers to himself. Thanks, Big Brother! Anywho, as I'm ready to place my order the Chilis employee, who was obviously already frazzled, notices the gift card in my hand and says not only are their phone lines down, but they can't run gift cards either. Are you serious!!??!! So I've now parted myself from the warmth and comfort of my couch, showered, left the house, ran into my old boss (I knew that would happen) and still don't have food. Put a fork in me, I'm done.. I ended up at the fast food texmex restaurant down the road and back home to enjoy a burrito, not Cajun pasta, but a burrito... Thanks, Chilis!

Had an evening dinner here with a friend. Service was pretty good. Ordered drinks and appetizers. My Margarita was more like a slushy or Slurpee, and I could not taste the tequila. My friend had a mediocre red wine. The appetizer was chips and salsa and guacamole. The mildly spiced guac was reasonably good. The chips were so thin, that you really had to be careful dipping in the salsa and guac or, they would crumble into bits. Had the Parmesan Steak with steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. Steak was prepared as ordered, even with the fake grill marks and poorly seasoned to boot; mashed po's, with shredded cheese, were so -so, but the broccoli in bunches as big as handballs, come on...that's an old trick to fill up the plate so you won't notice the the smaller entree, and still charge the same price! Geez o Pete, what a ruse!! Saving money by decreasing cost and increasing profit by downsizing the steak and up sizing the veggies!! Really?...Really? My friend liked the Fajitas with black beans, just not a memorable entree. Had enough left over to take home for lunch the next day. The game / electronic payment system was clunky and obtrusive for a 2 person table. Secondly, while it's more secure against identity theft, I resent putting 10 percent down for a tip, as I usually tip more in cash. (You all know why.) OK, for those of you who don't know, the tips are supposed to be pooled and split up at the end of the shift / night amongst the staff. So if your wait person is very good, they get screwed. If your wait person is very bad, they get more than deserved. So, in addition to the 10 percent on the electronic payment, try to take care of your wait person who performs well (5 -10 percent of your check) and try to hand the tip directly to them. Your total tip of 20% of the check is reasonable for good service; more is appropriate for superior, above and beyond service. Then the split is up to them.

The fajitas were great. I prefer this location over the State Street one as well. Everything seems to go pretty smoothly.

My family visited Chili's at this location recently and I was very impressed with the service we received. We recently moved from the Chicagoland area and I have noticed ever since they added the little electronic things with the games, payment option etc. the service has been kind of just ok at most of the Chili's. We had a girl name Julie as our server and I must say she was phenomenal and would definetly request her again. She did all the little things to make it an enjoyable dinner for my little 15 month old boy putting in his order early ( without my request), offering him ice cream and she was always on top of refilling our drinks and offering us a brand new bag of chips and salsa to take home. I will definetly go back soon. I always love Chili's food. The parmesean (sp) sirlion was great!

This Chili's has a nice waitstaff. I love that I can pay without waiting for my server using the tablet. Fair pricing. If you like your steak medium well, just get well done as they tend to undercook.

Have always had excellent service at this location no matter how busy they are. Last time we were there was 7pm on a Friday night and anticipating that it was busy and the fact that we lived 15 minutes away, we called ahead and it was a 30 minute wait so by the time we got into the car and to the restaurant our wait was only 5-10 minutes. Our server at this visit was very busy and forgot to bring my husband a water at one point but when she came back to check on how our food was she quickly realized it and promptly returned with a water. We will keep returning to this location
